When the world is at peace, when all things are tranquil and all men obey their superiors in all their courses, then music can be perfected. When desires and passions do not turn into wrongful paths, music can be perfected. Perfect music has its cause. It arises from equilibrium. Equilibrium arises from righteousness, and righteousness arises from the meaning of the cosmos. Therefore one can speak about music only with a man who has perceived the meaning of the cosmos.
— Herman Hesse (1877-1962)

Concept and Solution

How can the timeless power of music restore your focus, retune your brain and body

How can music support children's cognitive, emotional, physical and social growth

EuMuse concept is at once simple and obvious, yet complex and profound. We want to bring greater awareness around the connection between sound, music, brain and body, and to source simple solutions to complex problems.

Science behind understanding the power of music listening

String theory, allegedly a theory of everything (TOE), offers a single powerful framework capable of encompassing all forces and all matter in the metaphor of music; it explains that everything in the universe – all of the particles that make up matter and forces – is comprised of tiny vibrating fundamental strings. Everything vibrates, the only difference (between one string and another) is its resonant pattern, or how it vibrates.

Every substance on earth and every bone, muscle, organ and cell in the body has its own resonant frequency. There are literally hundreds of trillions of different resonant frequencies, and every species and molecule has its very own. At this fundamental, natural frequency an object absorbs energy more readily, operating most efficiently and therefore most healthfully.

Music Microcosm and Music Macrocosm

Our bodies are, in essence, more ecosystem than organism. They are a symphony of rhythmic patterns; our heartbeat, respiration and brainwaves all entrain to each other. All of our organs are vibrating, twisting and moving, even if many of these movements are micro movements. As a result of their motion they produce energies, including pressure waves (sound energy), in physics called phonons. As a photon is to light, a phonon is to sound.

Every cell in our body is a sound resonator and lives in a rhythmic pattern. Every organ has its cycle, its pulse, and its musical note. Every system has its cycle and its pattern and its pulse. The various systems in our body respond to sound vibrations as do our mental, emotional, and spiritual states of consciousness.

EuMuse work is science-based and experience driven. It is underpinned by my intensive education in music, psychology, philosophy, anthropology and experience in multicultural and mindfulness-based approaches. This work spans disciplines, continents and millennia – it is an art and science – and it is underscored by the innate journey into researching the civilizations of sound.
